Another review for you! This one was not my most favorite book, which is why we have 2 Triquetras. The cover is beautifully done, which is what drew me in for this one.

I am an Irish Polytheist, not a Welsh-based practitioner, so maybe the story wasn't as poignant for me, but I feel that this book was stretched out a bit too much. I hate to say it, but it seemed a little redundant, and that the same points were being made over and over.

I thought that, from the Goodreads blurb, that we were going to have a deeper understanding of the story, not a rehashing of it three times over. The first part focuses on "a general overview and introduction to the tale and its history." Then we have a retelling of the tale, both traditional AND modern. We go over the landscape of the myth, a bit of historical background and some exercises.

I'm not sure if it's just me but the exercises didn't do too much for me. Again, I think it may be because I'm not too invested in Welsh mythology.

Either way, I'm glad I gave this one a go - if you're a Welsh Pagan, what do you think of diving very deep into mythology? A good thing to look at, or just beating a dead horse, so to speak?

Author Rhoda Shapiro guides you through a unique exploration of wild feminine power and the ways in which it can heal, uplift, and empower the planet. Now is the time to rise up and live your truth, to reclaim ownership of your voice and body—this book contains the support you need

I knew from the moment I started reading this book that it was going to be something that I needed to hear, something that was going to awaken and empower me.

For those of you that don't know, when I'm not reading books and reviewing them, I'm a life coach, an ordained minister, a Reiki master in training, a witch, tarot reader, etc. Spirituality is my life, I live and breathe this stuff.

I am also a women's circle facilitator. I have dedicated myself to empowering women in the name of sisterhood, and this book not only is helping me spiritually but also professionally. The call, right in the foreword, written by Sistership Circle Founder, Tanya Lynn got me.

"Fierce women are sovereign, rooted in their self-authority, because they trust the voice within.
Fierce women no longer tolerate anything less than wha tthey deserve because they know their self-worth.
Fierce women stand together in sisterhood because they see their sisters as their allies instead of their enemies."
I mean COME ON! Isn't that just amazing? I don't know about you, but this is something that I've been craving - connection, sisterhood, feminine leadership. I already follow Tanya Lynn and Sistership Circle, so having her input right in the beginning told me that I was going to be in for an amazing treat with this book.

The exercises, from what I can see are awesome. We have some meditation and mantras - the first two are on raising your vibration, and the second one has us busting out the journals and pens. I do love a good journaling session!

I devoured this book in one night, and while the exercises will be something to work through I am so glad I've gotten a heads up on all the wonderful things to come. All women should read this book - time to rise up!

[Review] Llewellyn's Complete Book of Correspondence by Sandra Kynes

Llewellyn's Complete Book of Correspondences: A Comprehensive & Cross-Referenced Resource for Pagans & WiccansTitle: Llewellyn's Complete Book of Correspondence
Author: Sandra Kynes
Publisher: Llewellyn Worldwide
Publishing Date: Feb 8th, 2013
Pages: 552

Llewellyn's Complete Book of Correspondences
is a clear, straightforward companion for Pagan and Wiccan ritual and spellwork. Entries are cross-referenced, indexed, and organized by categories and subcategories, making it easy to find what you need.
This comprehensive reference provides a fascinating look at why correspondences are more than just lists of objects to focus intent on--they are fundamental to how we think. When we use correspondences, we weave together our ideas, beliefs, and energy, creating deeper meaning in our rituals and spellwork as we unite our individuality with a larger purpose.

The use of correspondences embodies both physical and symbolic energy and provides the means for uniting the seen and unseen worlds. Packed with content yet easy to use, Llewellyn's Complete Book of Correspondences covers traditional
correspondences and also provides instruction for forging new ones that hold special meaning for you.

Plants - Minerals - Animals - Deities - Zodiac - Moon Phases - Days and Times Ogham - Runes - Tarot - Elements - Numbers - Chakras - Colors - And More

Hey all! Today I have a review for you! This one is on a massive tome of correspondence that any Pagan or Witch will find helpful!

Like the blurb from Goodreads states, this has a TON of correspondence - look at that list up above! I find that the one that I refer to the most is the plant section. It's broken down into Trees, Herb & Garden, Misc. Plants (spices, over the counter medicines etc.)

It's absolutely amazing, and while I haven't read every single entry in detail I have no doubt that should the need arise I'll be able to find whatever I need very quickly! The animal section is amazingly thorough and even includes mythical animals from classical civilizations as well as Celtic and Native American mythology.

I have no doubt that every type of Pagan and witch will find something that has been cross-referenced in this book that will help make their path a lot easier. While I have an ebook version, I really think that having a hardcopy will make finding correspondence even faster, but that just might be me being technologically unadvanced.

Another part I really like is the cheat sheet right in the beginning - it lists out an intention and a quick guide to what falls under that heading!

Excerpt (Example)

anger (to soothe, control, diffuse)
  • Zodiac: Aries
  • Solar System: Mars, Uranus
  • Element: Fire
  • Tarot: Devil (express)
  • Colors: Black, Red (provoke), Violet, Yellow (green)
  • Trees: Holly, Juniper
  • Misc. Plants: Saffron, Wormwood
  • Herb & Garden: Catnip, Chamomile, Gorse, Lavender, Peony, Valerian, Vervain
  • Gemstones & Minerals: Amethyst, Angelite
  • From the Sea: Murex Bloodstone, Blue Lace Agate, Carnelian, Chrysocolla, Chrysoprase, Fluorite, Garnet, Howlite, Larimar, Moss Agate, Peridot, Sapphire, Topaz (blue)
  • Goddesses: Durga, Hera, Nemesis, Sekhmet
  • Gods: Aegir, Ares, Mars, Nergal
  • Bird: Chicken (rooster)

Whew! Isn't that something - there are tons of these, which takes up the first half of the book and I just can't even imagine how much work that must have been to compile all of this information. I really think that this section alone is worth having, if you're someone who does a lot of spellwork.

Do you have a need for such a thorough book? Do you do a lot of spellwork? I'd love to hear from you!
