If you could put yourself as a character in your book, who would you be?
I probably would be Bunster. Afterall, the jacket he is wearing is inspired by the yellow jacket I had in high school and wore it to art class, but got blue paint all over the bottom of the left sleeve...so I never wore it again. I decided he would wear it for me and be immortalized in the art.
Do you write every day?
I don’t usually, but if I have a particular project I want to get done in a certain amount of time, I will. Deadlines are motivating.
In today’s tech savvy world, most writers use a computer or laptop. Have you ever written
parts of your book on paper?
I usually have a notebook that I use for brainstorming notes, sketches, thumbnails, and basically most of my process until doing the final version of the project.
Favorite travel spot?
There’s this one hole-in-the-wall sushi place in Monterey that my husband and I occasionally visit. Between the sushi, udon, and dango, it’s a whole experience.
What advice would you give budding writers?
What’s that quote from Faulkner?
Read, read, read. Read everything—trash, classics, good and bad, and see how they do it. Just like a carpenter who works as an apprentice and studies the master.
Christine is an artist that dabbles in storytelling and enjoys working in different mediums including marker, ink, watercolors and colored pencil. She enjoys drawing fantasy creatures, anthropomorphic animals, and kids. She lives with her husband, Ian and sweet black kitty, Kida in the Bay Area, California and likes to take walks, go out driving, and play video games and board games with her friends.
