[Review] Inspirational Quotes and 30 Days' Affirmations by Wunmi Adebowale

Title: Inspirational Quotes and 30 Days' Affirmations
Author: Wunmi Adebowale

Pages: 68
Publication Date: October, 30 2020

Words are like seeds you sow that grow and bear fruits. The words you speak are given life when spoken and will eventually define the quality of your life. When you sow mangoes, you would definitely not expect to reap bananas, and so it is when you sow negative words into your life, the result will automatically be negative. Quit using negative words such as I can’t, I won’t, I will never, I just can’t, it is not possible, I can’t help myself, I am hopeless, I can’t live etc. Pay attention to the words you speak; they are your spirit and life. This is not a make-believe piece of work; this is an awareness to sensitise you that there is power in your words.

Inspirational Quotes and 30 Days’ Affirmations will:
• empower you to live above the average by attracting the right energy to live an authentic life
• teach you how to prophesy the right words into your life that will help you manifest your hidden potentials
• equip you with the right mind-set required to live a victorious life
• challenge you to focus on the positive side of things which will help renew your mind and transform your life drastically
• help you overcome insecurities and self-doubt by constantly declaring what you truly desire from life
• assist you to discover and fulfil your divine purpose and calling.

Thanks for the publisher for a free copy in exchange for this book.

I was not a fan of this one - hence the 1 triquetra. I'm not sure if I'm the correct demographic for this one. I thought that the quotes and affirmation might be helpful and something that I would find enriching to my life, but I was pretty let down.

This started right at quote number 6: "It is rather unfortunate that people have given the word ‘feminism’ different meanings that suits them. All I want as a woman is a stronger man who can protect, provide, care and love me. A king that would treat me as the queen that I am. And this does not make me weak or inferior to him. My strength is in my magnificence. In all, I am still a feminist"

Perhaps it's just a difference of opinion between myself and the author, but this just missed the mark, and after reading that I honestly didn't wish to continue reading this book.

Further on, and I think there may have been a translation issue, or perhaps English isn't the author's first language, because the flow of the language just wasn't there.
Quote #13 for example: "The friction is not caused by the dryness but your unwillingness to lubricate."

This doesn't read as inspirational, it reads as awkward.

I also didn't appreciate the references to God, and am definitely the wrong demographic for those particular quotes.

We have 119 of these quotes - that seem poorly translated, or so vague and obtuse that it sounds like you're reading fortune cookies.

Then we have 30 days of affirmations. These were slightly better, but also sounded off, did not flow, and were just awkward.
At least day 22 recognizes that I'm a unicorn. "My head is exalted like the head of a unicorn. I am distinguished."

Overall, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone to purchase, not in this format, not unless we had some editing and perhaps translation work.
Unimpressed, feels scammy to be perfectly honest.
